[INFO] A look into 1st half of year 2009 – Super Junior reigns

Even though the meaning to album sales has began to take a smaller part to the releasing a new album, but in anyway it is still important to a singer in terms of the value of the music and the singer’s success.

So who has the best album sales in the Kpop realm for the 1st half of year 2009? We follow Hanteo chart to find the results tabulated as till 30th May.

And group Super Junior is said to have the highest album sales, with group So Nyeo Shi Dae following behind at #2. We have our Kings and Queens for the 1st half of 2009!

Super Junior had the highest number of album sales for this 1st half of year 2009. They released their 3rd album ‘Sorry Sorry’ in March selling over 100,ooo copies and then they went on to release version C of the album, to breakthrough 200,000 copies sold.

Following behind at #2 is group So Nyeo Shi Dae. They previously released their 1st minialbum ‘Gee’ in January and seeing over 70,000 copies.

The rest of the results:

1.Super Junior with 200,000 copies sold of ‘Sorry Sorry’
2.So Nyeo Shi Dae with 70,000 copies sold of ‘Gee’
3.Singer Seo Taiji sold 59,000 copies with his 8th album single ‘Seotaiji Atomos Part Secret’.
4.Shin Hye Sung sold a total of 35,000 copies ofhis 3rd album ‘Keep Leaves’
5.Bobby Kim with 34,000 copies sold for his special album.
6.SG Wannabe with 29,000 album sales for 6th album ‘Gift From SG WannaBe’
7.Indie band Jang Gi Ha and the Faces with 29,000 copies sold of their 1st album ‘Living without any special things (별일없이 산다)’
8.Davichi is at #8 with 28,000 copies sold of their minialbum giving hits like ‘8282′ and ‘Get into an accident’
9.Fly To The Sky last 8th album ‘Decennium’ selling 27,000 copies
10.Jo Sung Mo with 23,000 album sales for 7th album ‘Second Half’

With the first half of 2009 ending, and we have the latter half the year – with many new additions to the competition like 2NE1, HyunA’s group 4Minutes and T-ara’s debuts, Big Bang, Se7en, KARA, So Nyeo Shi Dae and SS501’s comebacks – we have just more to look out for.

May is a period where there are a lot of university festivals held in Korea. Thus, www.bugs.co.kr (the largest music site in Korea) held a poll on May 21st to know list of artists whom the students most want to be invited at their festivals.

1. SNSD

“even if they’re only sitting still, SoShi will be still a big show!”

2. TVXQ

“TVXQ has been active in international activities. Currently TVXQ is advancing a live tour in Japan until early in July and it’s expected that the tour will be sold out.”

3. Super Junior

Occupied by a group of 13 members. Super Junior’s songs “Sorry, Sorry” and “It’s You” also gained good responses in bugs site as it’s placed at 5th on charts.

SM Entertainment’s groups are sweeping 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, showing its scary power in music industry. (Following are Big Bang, Hyunjoong of SS501, and Wondergirls in 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively.)

[INFO + PIC] Choi Si Won on the cover of Men’s Health magazine

Super Junior member Choi Si Won has appeared in a photoshoot in the June issue of Men’s Health magazine showing off his great built. The magazine company also said, “This is the first time we have a idol on the cover of our magazine.”

The great built was attributed to that fact that Si Won is quite obsessed with exercising. In the past 4 years, he has a personal trainer with whom he will train with at the health club.

The concept to the photoshoot is basketball which is Si Won’s hobby. Si Won’s trainer said, “For this photoshoot, SiWon had lost about 15kg in 1 month, and right now he is still slowly cutting down his weight from 75kg.”

Viewer preference : 0
Cd charts : 7778
Media frequency : 0
They had ZERO POINTS in 2 sections~.... But a great number in CD charts that made them win!!
This is really surprising, and if Music bank hadn't changed their system, they would probably not have won.
That's also why they were so surprised

- If they don't have points in media frequency it's because it was (it's you) first performance on Music Bank

- If they don't have points in Viewer preference, it's because of what Soundscape explained bellow:(it's)
viewer preference, people can random emails asking them to vote their favourite, and since It's you was only released last week or something, it wasn't really nominated or in contention. How you can get those emails, idk, you probably sign up for it, but i think it's for korean people only, since if it was open to anyone, i bet we'd know of it by now XD
